From the Phlegraean Fields to the world: between archeology, nature and the sea, in a unique place, close to the city of Naples, where history, myth and legends merge, the 2022 edition of Campania Stories, the event dedicated to the press, will be held national and international specialist meeting every year on the regional territory on the occasion of the presentation of the new vintages of the wines produced in the main appellations of Campania. From Monday 5th to Thursday 8th September in Pozzuoli (Naples) there will be “Campania Stories – Special Edition”dedicated to the international press, whose participation has been limited for two years due to the emergency linked to Covid-19.
Also this year Campania Stories, organized by Miriade & Partners with the participating wineries, will celebrate the synergy between all the components of the wine world: first of all the wineries of the region, the indispensable collaboration of AIS Campania, the Campania Region, which once again this year it has included the review in the list of trade fairs and promotional events in which it officially participates, and the Luciano Pignataro Wine Blog’s Media Partnership. As always, the review will be structured with tastings reserved for the press, visits to the cellar and to the territories, with a day dedicated to operators and enthusiasts from all over Italy, or the Campania Stories Day. The venue for the 2022 edition of Campania Stories will be the Hotel Gli Dei in Pozzuoli (Naples), in the heart of the Campi Flegrei, opposite the island of Procida, the Italian Capital of Culture 2022.
“Campania Stories 2022 – Special Edition” will see the presence on the regional territory of the Ambassadors of the Vinitaly International Academy (VIA), the educational structure of Vinitaly, a reference point for the promotion of Italian wine in the world which for years has formed the Italian Wine Ambassador, including including Master of Wine, Master of Sommelier, Head Sommelier, Wine Educator, journalists, opinion leaders, buyers, importers, distributors, agents and any other figure involved in the Wine Industry. The Ambassadors will be in Campania for incoming activities together with the Managing Director of Vinitaly International, Stevie Kim, and the Scientific Director Prof. Attilio Scienza.
The exhibition will open on Monday 5th September at the Palazzo dell’Ostrichina, between Lake Fusaro and the Casina Vanvitelliana, a unique scenario in the world where the national and international press will be welcomed through an important promotion initiative. of Campania fish in collaboration with the Campania Region as part of the FEAMP (European Fund for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries), giving visibility to this symbiotic relationship with the sea intended not only as a landscape element that gives uniqueness to this piece of territory regional, but also as a resource in economic and productive terms. Everything the sea produces and offers, combining this issue with the necessary reference to sustainability, the protection of the ecosystem, and proper nutrition education. The restaurants of the Campi Flegrei will interpret the Campania fish – and not only -: Associazione Restauratori Flegrei (Aguglia Osteria di Mare, Capoblu Restaurant, Da Fefe’, Esperia Terrazza Flegrea, Home Piccola Osteria Alternative, Hosteria Bugiarda Contemporary Kitchen, Stubborn Locanda Atipica, Kuma 65, La Bifora Restaurant, Masseria Sardo Orti e Cucina, Mazzella Gastropub, Oblio, Officina Meccanica Generale wine and tapas bar, Riccio Restaurant Baia Porto, Sunrise Monte di Procida Est 1984) and the restaurants Abraxas, Coevo – Mediterranean Restaurant of Dimora dei Lari and Cala Moresca.
Among the moments that will further enrich the program, the Masterclass “Falanghina: all the volcanic nature of the Phlegraean Fields” in collaboration with the Consorzio Tutela Vini Campi Flegrei, Ischia e Capri and the presentation of the book “Altrove a Sud. Il vino, il cibo, l’anima dell’Italia ” (South of Somewhere: Wine, Food, and the Soul of Italy) by the American journalist Robert Camuto (Ampelos Edizioni), scheduled for Thursday 8th September at 5.30pm at the Villa Raiano winery in San Michele di Serino (Avellino), who will be interviewed by the journalist Luciano Pignataro. This edition of Campania Stories will see focus on the international press, authoritative signatures of the sector press and groupage for the overseas press, giving the opportunity to wineries to have their wines tasted by the most important national and international newspapers, while providing journalists and operators technical content and updates on supply chain production data, as well as on the evaluation of the vintages of white and red wines of the last twenty years expressed in twentieths, relative to the qualitative average and to the general evolutionary potential, accompanied by keywords related to the specific climatic and expressive character, as well as indications on the recommended consumption windows for each vintage. An event that lasts 365 days, also through digital activities (and not only) for the promotion of Campania wine in the world, presenting on the web and on social networks the denominations, territories and protagonists of the wine world of the region, to be followed through the hashtags #campaniastories and #iobevocampano and on the website www.campaniastories.com.
