Italian wine restarts from Campania region: Campania Stories” is the first wine event dedicated to the national and international specialized press planned and organized after the emergency to be held in person. A renewed format to allow Italian, European and overseas journalists to taste the new vintages of the regional wines, but also to discover the territories through tours and focused initiatives.

Therefore, from 1 to 4 September 2020 will be held the new edition of the event promoted by Miriade & Partners and the approximately 80 participating companies, in collaboration with AIS Campania and with the support of Regione Campania, which also for this edition has embraced in full the spirit of the kermesse, giving voice to the needs of the industry in terms of enhancement and promotion, and with the Media Partnership of Luciano Pignataro Wine Blog. Main Sponsor of Campania Stories 2020 is Acanfora Hotels & Resorts Group, with 4- and 5-star facilities on the golden beaches of Cilento coast, high-quality standards, large interior and exterior design spaces, swimming pools and high-level services: Mec Paestum Hotel, Hotel Cerere Paestum, Olimpia Cilento Resort, Paestum Inn Beach Resort.

The journalists will be welcomed at the Mec Paestum Hotel and the Hotel Cerere, both located in Paestum, one of the most fascinating and historical places in Italy and in the world. An exclusive location, then, will host the first Italian wine event since the recovery, in the heart of the ancient city of Magna Graecia. Other partners of the 2020 edition are the Amalfi Coast Tourist District Association, Assoenologi Campania, travel agency AJ54.

Focus on the Italian and European press, which will be in Cilento to take part in tastings and cellar tours, while special groupages have been organized for overseas journalists to allow the most important international newspapers to taste the new vintages of the main regional denominations, thus overcoming the logistical difficulties due to the delicate economic situation that is being experienced at a global level. A very special edition with the important goal of relaunching the promotion of Campania’s wines in the world.

The program includes technical tastings of the wines of the participating companies by the specialized press, tours throughout the region to visit the wineries and meet the producers, initiatives planned to give the press the opportunity to appreciate the most authentic nature of Campania, through an unprecedented dialogue between the artistic-historical-naturalistic heritage of the region and the wine. And so, has also be planned a tour of the wonderful Archaeological Park of Paestum, Italian archaeological jewel and UNESCO heritage, which will be thus added to the other symbols of Campania in the world that have hosted the event so far: the Diocesan Museum, Donnaregina Monumental Complex, the Royal Palace of Caserta and the Amalfi Coast, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for the undisputed beauty and distinctiveness of its natural landscape. On the last day, Friday 4 September, will be held the traditional moment dedicated to professional operators from all over Italy, “Campania Stories Day”, with the possibility to taste the wines offered by the participating companies (3 sessions available: from 2.30PM to 4.30PM, from 5.30PM to 7.30PM, from 8.30PM to 10.30PM – info and reservations: +39 329.9606793 – +39 392.0059528 – staff@miriadeweb.it).

What’s more, the new technical contents produced for the 2020 edition are interesting and unpublished: the annually released publication will, indeed, contain important updates on the data about production and supply chain, as well as on the evaluation of the vintages of white and red wines of the last twenty years. For each vintage, the assignment of scores on a 20-point scale based on the average quality and the potential for ageing will be accompanied by key words related to the specific climatic and expressive character, as well as by indications on the recommended drinking windows for each vintage. The presentation of the new vintage (2019) is organized by the Association of Italian Winemakers – Campania Section. The publication realized for Campania Stories 2020 is therefore confirmed as a very useful tool for both professionals and enthusiasts.
